This signed edition of Royalty Rides the Rails: A Railroading Persepctive of the 1939 Canada/USA Royal Tour depicts the trains and railway workers who were a integral part of the success of King George IV & Queen Elizabeth's tour.
Lavishly illustrated with over 160 photographs and illustrations (colour and B&W), some seldom seen by the general public, came from museums and private collections across Canada.
Special photographic emphasis has been placed upon, not only the Royal and Pilot Trains but the workers assigned duties on or around the two trains. The Royal Tour of 1939 engendered a strong feeling ofhope for a better tomorrow from the economic hardships of the Depression.
